Icon Live – Cork

Hey everyone, today’s blog post is about an event I went to last Friday. First of all, you are probably wondering what Icon live even is, well it’s a social media event that an Irish blogger put together, a night full of makeup, fashion, shopping, music and meeting new people! It was honestly an amazing event with so many Irish social media influencers. I’m going to talk about everything that went on throughout the night.

Make-up – There was 5 make-up pop up shops Beauty Pod, Bperfect Cosmetics, Glowing Girlies Boutique, BiaBelle Beauty and Jeanette Cronin Makeup which all looked amazing. There was also a make-up demo by Lucy Fitz (Irish Blogger/Make-up Artist) she was meant to be doing Love Islands Georgia Steels makeup but ended up doing another Irish makeup artist!

As well as that they also had a panel of 5, they were all Irish and were all apart of different industries and I’m going to go through each of them.

Kailum O Connor – (@kailumslife) he does comedy videos on social media

Nathan Adams – (@nathanadams95) manger to several social media influencers and owns his own marketing agency along with his own music festivals.

Jamie Malone – (@jamiexmalone) Youtuber.

KiKi – (@_kikifit_) Health and Fitness Blogger.

Reece Creed – (@therealreececreed) Youtuber.

Miriam Mullins – (@miriammullins_) Beauty Blogger and Youtuber.

Lucy Fitz – (@lucyyfitz) Blogger and Make-up Artist.

As well as the panel Miriam Mullins was also on stage hosting and apart of the panel!

Overall it was an amazing event and all the people involved were so nice and amazing to talk to. It was so interesting to hear all of their stories and how they got to where they are. There was meant to be a few more bloggers/influencers but they weren’t there. It was a really good event and Miriam said she plans on doing more Icon Lives around Ireland and I’m looking forward to them too! Once it was all over the last thing everyone did was get a meet and greet with Love Islands Georgia Steel who was absolutely lovely, she also did a little Q&A on stage. Miriam did a great job with the event and she looked amazing too, her dress was beautiful!.

My outfit is:

P U R E By PS

Primark are back with a brand new make-up line and I’m so excited! Recently Primark’s make-up game has been on another level and there is so many of their products I love and use regularly!. Whenever they come out with new products I usually buy one or two of them and do a review for you guys so here’s my review of P U R E!

I picked up a liquid lipstick & the eyeshadow palette because they were so pretty and I knew I’d get use out of them both!

Also available in the in the line:

A face palette; 3 highlight shades & 1 contour

2 shades of liquid lipsticks

2 shades of single highlighters

A portable mirror

4 shades of liquid highlighters

3 eye pigments

12 shades eyeshadow palette

Liquid lipstick:

I love liquid lipsticks, they are definitely something I always want to get more of because they are amazing and this one definitely falls under amazing. I love the colour so much, you could easily match it with many different eye looks! You could use it for an everyday look or glam it up! The glitter makes it stand out, it applies so good and is definitely one of my favourites. I also loved the packaging and the shape of the bottle it’s so pretty and tops the whole thing off! I would definitely recommend this, and I’m so sorry I didn’t pick up the other shade too!

Eyeshadow palette:

Eyeshadow palette’s are definitely my favourite make-up products, I love them so much, they are always the prettiest!. First, let’s talk about the layout, the shapes are amazing and I just love how they laid it out, it’s beautiful!. The second I opened this palette I fell in love with the colours they were all so beautiful and I could literally picture in my head the amount of eye looks that could be created with this palette. There is so much pigment in each shade and it blends so nicely. The glitter shades are definitely my favourites!. As well as it being hands down a fabulous palette it is also light and what I mean by light is when it’s on it doesn’t feel heavy on your skin or eyes, I find a lot of makeup is like this but not this palette. Also it wipes away nice and easy, you know after a long day of wearing makeup and you can’t wait to go home and just take it off? And when you scrub your eyes so much trying to wipe away the makeup that it starts to hurt and irritate you because of the rubbing? Well not this one! It rubs off so nice and gently and it’s amazing! Only €6 and it’s just amazing!!!

Blogtober starts Monday so I’ll see you then!❤️

My Top 5 Make-up Brands

Happy Mondayyy! So because I just posted a makeup giveaway on my Instagram (@lifeasbeccaa) so I thought I’d do a makeup related blog post! So here we go my top 5 make up brands

1. W7

I was the biggest fan of Mac for the longest time, mostly because of the mascara and I never thought I’d find a mascara I love as much as my Mac one but I was wrong! For Christmas I got a set of W7 makeup which I have never tried before and it included the mascara which was the very same as my Mac one (in my opinion) and it was so much more affordable which was a bonus, I also love their cover stick it’s the best thing to cover spots! Their eyeshadow palettes have always been one of my favourites I’ve like 5 palettes!

2. Catrice cosmetics

As far as I know you can only get this in Primark and one or two pharmacies but I mostly only love this brand for their foundations and concealer because I don’t like heavy makeup, I’m more of a natural kind of girl so I find their foundation amazing and I haven’t really tried any other products of theirs but I’m sure they are amazing! I definitely will try some more and maybe do reviews on them because they are also an affordable brand!

3. L’Oreal Paris

All of their brow products are my lifee! Now I know I said I don’t like full glam makeup but when I’m going out I sometimes wear a heavier and darker foundation and I literally only use L’Oreal!! Now my favourites products would have to be the infallible 24h-matte foundation in the shade natural rose, if you wear tan a lot I highly recommend this foundation because it gives your face a beautiful clear tan and it looks so pretty honestly! Also a foundation favourite would be true match it has the prettiest glitter undertone that I lovee! My eyebrow favourite would 100% have to be the brow artist plumper it’s so amazing to just throw it on your eyebrows when you are heading out so you don’t have to sit down and shape out your brows and all that!

4. Kylie Cosmetics

All I have to say is I just love her lip kits so much and all the colours are just amazing and I’m also a big fan of her eyeshadow palettes such beautiful colours, also her collection are always so beautiful!

5. Maybelline New York

Literally there isn’t a product that I’ve tried of theirs that I don’t like, the Gigi Hadid collection was just beautiful and I wish I got literally every product, they are always doing the most amazing collections, I’m pretty sure everyone loves Maybelline!

These are the 5 most makeup brand I use but I love so many more too so I’ll do another one soon! Hope you enjoyed and don’t forget, make up giveaway on my Instagram! @lifeasbeccaa☺️

Tips for new bloggers

Happy Sunday, so I didn’t plan on writing or posting this post today, this was meant to go up on Wednesday but I did a poll on twitter and this got the most votes so I’m writing this one! Sorry it’s up so late it was meant to go up earlier, I scheduled it to go up at 6 but it just didn’t post! But anyways let get into the post!☺️

So I’m fairly new to blogging, I started about a year ago but was barley doing it, just posting randomly and whenever I wanted, I didn’t plan things out or do it on a regular basis but I have learned a few things over the year I’ve had my blog.

1. Write about the right things

When I say that I mean write about things you like or are passionate about, also make sure you’ve the right information and understand the things you talk about because it really shows in your writing and people can clearly see if you aren’t interested in what you are talking about, so I highly recommend only talking about things you’ve strong opinions about or things you’ve an interest in because I think writing about things you like really improves your writing!

2. Don’t worry about others opinions

I definitely worried so much at the start of my blogging journey, I was scared what everyone around me would think and it held me back from blogging a lot which I now regret and hate that I let it bother me and held me back! As soon as I stopped caring about others opinions I felt better about myself and my blog got better which was great!

3. Use Twitter!

Honestly I didn’t know what I was missing out on with twitter! It is such a good way to promote your blog and discover others! Plus you can get to know so many people who are bloggers too and they are all literally the nicest and most supportive people you’ll ever met and they will without a doubt motivate you do continue blogging!

4. Just keep going.

This was another big problem with me at the start of my blogging journey I didn’t get views/likes/ comments and it felt like I was putting in so much effort for nothing! But trust me if you keep at it and post regularly you will get to a point where you get likes/views/comments and see the work you do is worth it! The more work you put in the better results you’ll get and trust me reading the comments and seeing the views and that people read what you write is the best feeling in the world.

5. Communicate with your following

Make sure you answer comments and talk with your following on your blog and social media and also communicate with other bloggers like I said, follow them, comments on their stuff, give them a reason to check out your blog and see what your doing and keep up to date with you like you do with them!

6. Plan.

To me, this is the most important planning everything out! From posts to pictures, knowing what you are doing every time you get ready to sit down and type is great and every time you take your camera out knowing what you are talking photos off and knowing ahead of time gives you that day to plan out ideas and the way you want it! Also a big tip that I use all the time is always be one step ahead, always have your next post in your mind or wrote and ready to go because it saves the stress of trying to think of things on the spot, usually I write a big list of ideas and when I go to write I pick whatever one I want! Lists are important!

7. Numbers.

DON’T STRESS ABOUT NUMBERS!! It’s the worse thing you can do and it’ll just make you doubt yourself which you shouldn’t, so forget the numbers and worry about what you are doing.

8. Comparing yourself.

Please, please, please don’t compare yourself to other blogs/bloggers, you are all different and you should embrace that, comparing yourself will do nothing only bring you down and make you unmotivated! PLEASE DONT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS !!

That’s it, just always remember to be yourself and do things how you want and not to please others, also be patient, your hard work will pay off more and more as you grow and I hope you learn from my mistakes!☺️

See you tomorrow!

Advice for teenagers

Happy Thursday, today’s post is about teenagers and our current world, this is me speaking from 100% experience and how I felt in the situations and I hope it helps some of you out!

First thing I want to say is no matter how young / old you are, you have a voice of your own, it’s okay to have a different opinion to everyone else, it’s okay to not want to follow the crowd, it’s okay to be different, it’s okay to stand out.

Having a voice and using it is important, if you don’t want to do something speak up and say it don’t hide in the back and do it because everyone else is doing it!, do what you believe in and if you think it’s wrong say it and leave, don’t get yourself caught up in stuff you don’t wanna be in or isn’t easy to get out of! Always remember it’s your life and you shouldn’t live it to please anyone else but yourself! Also having a different opinion is okay too, don’t ever be afraid to share your opinion not everyone will agree but that’s okay, as long as you know what you are saying and doing!

“Following the crowd” I’ve lived this & seen so many do it, just because your friends do something doesn’t mean you have to!!! If you think it’s wrong and it’s something you know you shouldn’t do then speak up and say there is no way you’ll do it & that’s it no need to explain yourself! And if you think you have to do it to fit in or do it so your friends will like you or whatever then they aren’t really your friends and you are 100% better off without them! I’ve often been asked to do things and it’s all stuff I don’t agree with so of course I stood up and said that!

Being different & standing out is sO important to me, my mam often said to me look at those girls walking around in groups just worrying about school, while you have business ideas, what you wanna do in life & it all planned out. And I loved that because although I’m only 16 I’ve planned out so much and thought about doing such big things, the higher the goal the more I work & fight for it! But while my friends were out getting drunk and smoking whatever in fields ( which I was asked and asked to do with them but I always said no because that isn’t the way I want my life to go ) I was traveling, going to concerts and meeting new people and it truly was amazing! And I also ended up starting a blog because of the discussions I made!☺️

So not following the crowd, standing out and being different made me see what I truly want to do and what makes me happy, and gives me excitement every time I do it!

Now I’m not judging anyone who does drink or smoke I’m just saying EVERYONE in my town does it and Honestly it isn’t the road I wanted to take and I took a different one and ended up here, which I’m happy with! But it was all because I said no and didn’t give into the temptation of others. Also if you are going through a hard time don’t be afraid to text me on twitter my dms are always open! (@/lifeasbeccaa)

So,

Be kind

Be happy

Be strong

Be brave

Be respectful

Be different

Be you.

See you Tuesday!

NUDES BY PS ~ Pressed vs Cream Contour Set

I’m back! Happy Tuesday, so a couple weeks ago I purchased a few bits from Primark’s new KKW inspired line called nudes and one of the things I got was a cream contour set which I done a review on already. The cream contour set included a two shade cream contour stick, a two shade highlighter stick, a brow highlighter and a brush/blender which was €8. Now the other day I was in a local Primark and saw the pressed contour palette and thought I’d pick it up, try it out and compare it to the cream contour set! This palette contains one contour shade, two highlight shades and a blush.

3 difference of the two for me;

1. For me I feel like the cream contour sticks blend a hundred times better than the powder.

2. The cream contour always applied way better for me.

3. You get more options in the cream than the pressed.

They are really the only difference I can see. But in my opinion I’ve always loved cream contours and highlighters more than powdered ones!

Cream Contour Set

So like I’ve said before I think it’s good value for €8 because the colours are pretty and you get 3 highlight shades, 2 contour shades and a brush / blender. Also I love how cream contour applies and I think it feels light on the face, also blends better and gives more definition.

Pressed Contour Palette

First of all the contour shade was definitely too dark for me, I’m not a fan of heavy contour or really dark colours, but I love the highlight/blush colours! Although it was only €6 I wouldn’t go out of my way to go buy it, simply because it doesn’t blend well or look good for me!

See you Thursday!,
